LOS ANGELES, October 29, 2007 - Premiere Radio Networks announced today that radio veteran Deanne G. Saffren has been named Operations Manager of Blair Garner's "After MidNite" and "The Blair Garner Show." Based in Los Angeles, she will report to Lark Hadley, Premiere Radio Networks EVP of Operations. In addition, previous Operations Manager Sam Thompson leaves the programs after nearly eight years to do projects for the consulting firm Albright & O'Malley, but will continue to serve as a consultant to both programs.
In her new position, she will oversee music scheduling and will work closely with record labels. In addition to booking the top personalities in Country music and entertainment for both shows, Saffren will also manage all marketing, advertising and promotions.
Garner commented, "Suffice it to say, Sam Thompson leaves some pretty enormous shoes to fill. But I'd bet my last dollar that Deanne is the one person who can do just that. She's an incredibly talented and focused individual. Her passion for the music and her dedication to excellence makes this a perfect fit. I couldn't be happier."
With nearly 15 years experience in the industry, Saffren served as the assistant program director/music director of KYSR-FM/Los Angeles prior to joining Premiere Radio. Throughout her extensive career, she also held the following positions: promotions director of KZLA-FM/Los Angeles, promotions director of KYSR-FM/Los Angeles, program director/music director of KHTY-FM/Santa Barbara and music director of KJEE-FM/Santa Barbara. Saffren has been named "Music Director of the Year" by Billboard Magazine and a "Top 20" program director in AIR’s (Active Industry Research) Modern Rock Competition. She has also worked in marketing and promotions for USA Network, McDonald Associates and Capitol Records.
Saffren resides in Los Angeles and is a volunteer for the Concern Foundation for Cancer Research and the Humane Society.
On November 13, 1993, After MidNite aired for the first time on 12 stations. Word spread and within four months, more than 100 affiliates were on board. Today, the highly acclaimed Country radio show is nationally syndicated by Premiere Radio Networks and can be heard on nearly 250 affiliates. In 2006, Garner added a second show, The Blair Garner Show, which can be heard seven days a week on 40 affiliates.
