Simeon Rice on The Drive on FOX: "There is no such thing as an upgrade from me"

LOS ANGELES, August 6, 2007 - NFL Defensive End, Simeon Rice, joined The Drive on FOX with Chris Myers and Sean Farnham last Friday and commented on his time in Tampa Bay and his current situation. Below are highlights from the interview.

RICE: "What's to be bitter about? I had a great time being around magnificent people like Monte Kiffin, Mike Tomlin, my favorite Rod Marinelli, Joe B., even little Raheem came back to coach in the secondary. Those were my guys and I'm forever going to love those coaches and those guys I played with from Brooks to Sapp, to Marcus Jones, Steve White, Brian Kelly, Ronde Barber, Ellis Wyms, I can go all day. I have no hard feelings, but it's bittersweet."

Rice went on to say…

"There is no such thing as an upgrade from me. If you're talking about you need pass rush, I'm the most dominant pass rusher of the past six years. I haven't lost a beat. Prior to me being injured, I helped anchor this team when we lost to Seattle. I'm a different guy from my torn labrum. I'm just as potent. Now I have a vile mind state, much more like I've got to have it. I'm that much more motivated. I'm that much more excited. Any great player that has gone through some type of adversity has to have resilience."

The Drive on FOX is nationally syndicated by the FOX Sports Radio Network and airs from 3-7 p.m. ET/12-4 p.m. PT on more than 100 stations.
