Monday, April 23rd 2012 Comedian Gary Owen Tells "FOX Sports Daybreak" About Taking an Elbow from Metta World Peace While Filming "Think Like A Man"
LOS ANGELES, April 23, 2012 -- Actor and comedian Gary Owen joined FOX Sports Daybreak hosts Artrell Hawkins and Andy Furman today, April 23, and talked about his three-day, not-so-peaceful experience with Metta World Peace on the set of Think Like A Man. Taking an elbow for the team while filming a basketball scene for the number one movie, Owen thinks he matched James Harden's now infamous encounter with World Peace during the Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Los Angeles Lakers game yesterday.
Owen said: "...when I saw James Harden last night, I was like, 'I took that for three days of shooting.'Â ...I don't think Ron knew 'go half speed' and I had to guard Ron... there's not an off switch. Â I was like dude! Â For real now." Owen went on to say, "We can bag on NBA players 'til you play them, and then you realize how good they really are."
Despite his Metta moment, Owen says his craziest athlete encounter was when Mike Tyson came to one of his comedy shows and playfully hit him in the stomach, which he took lying down. Â Owen also jokingly took credit for Think Like A Man's success, knowing it might be his only shot at being in a #1 movie.
